The AIG Zone 11 Command, AIG Akande has promised Nigerians that he would join forces with the Commissioners of Police and other Tactical Commanders in Oyo and Osun States to provide adequate security for life and property with all what he has at his disposal so that the people can sleep with their two eyes closed.
The AIG, who paid a courtesy visit to His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, CFR, Ooni of Ife, stated this during the visit in a well celebrated atmosphere which had DC ZCID, DCP Nnaghe Obono Itam, DC OPS, DCP Felix Ohagwu, DC DFA, DCP Reuben Abiola, popular comedian Gbenga Adeyinka and other dignitaries in attendance.
The AIG informed the gathering that he was at the palace to pay homage to His Imperial Majesty and to receive the royal blessing that a worthy Oduduwa son deserved.
Ooni of Ife welcomed the AIG with joy, promised to always support the police and then prayed for the AIG to succeed in all his endeavors.
Afterwards, AIG Akande had a security assessment visit to Ife-Ilesa Express Road and Ayegbaju-Iwara-Igangan roads, which gave him the opportunity to see Oba Thomas Lucas of Igangan and Oba Aberdeen Adeyemi Alamo of Ayegbaju.
According to the statement signed and made available to journalists by the zone’s PPRO, CSP Ayeni Benjamin, the AIG addressed the monarchs on the need to embrace community policing and promised them that there would be more police presence within their axis of Osun State to ensure security of lives and properties.
