As fire gutted the Orisunmbare Plank market in Bodija which is located within Aare Latosa LCDA yesterday, the Political Head/ Administrator, Hon. Waheed Adeniyi Akanbi (Biiro) has commiserated with the victims, whose properties and means of livelihood were lost to the Inferno.
Akanbi expressed his great shock on receiving the sad and unpleasant news, adding that, it was a great dilemma to the traders of the market as well as the LCDA but a great joy that no life was lost to the inferno.
He also stated that it is so disheartening to hear and see people’s properties and means of livelihood being turned into ashes in his/her presence.
He said it is only God that can comfort those people involved stressing that, they should just accept it as God’s will as no amount of wailing or tearing, can redeem the lost items.
The Council boss urged them to be more observant and vigilant with all electrical installations or lighting of fire within the market, in order to avert future occurrence of such.
He further reiterated the commitment of the present administration towards the welfare and well-being of the people as 20 floodlights have just been installed within the market, in a view to address security threats or incessant criminal activities in and around the market
He, however stressed that his administration will not relent in its efforts at, making life meaningful and pleasant for the people of the Council area.
He therefore urged all to remain calm and positive.
