The Assistant Inspector-General of Police in charge of Zone XI Command, Osogbo, Christy Cookey has said the effort of Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba on Police reforms is sacrosanct.

Cookey said the IGP’s security architecture of community policing of engaging critical stakeholders and providing all necessary means to secure all Nigerians anywhere in the country cannot be overemphasized.
The AIG, who stated this while at the Ile-Ife royal palace to pay homage to the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ojaja II, affirmed that the Nigeria Police will always come to the traditional rulers to seek for their support and advice in order to ensure that the concept of community policing is not just on paper but manifesting at the grassroots because traditional rulers are the custodians of people and culture.
AIG Cookey informed the monarch and all chiefs present that various methods of policing that will ensure the security of people and properties, which includes visibility policing, are being jointly worked on by her and the commissioners of police within the zone.
Oba Ogunwusi, who gave his royal blessing to the AIG and said he is happy as the Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, which AIG Cookey is an alumnus, because she is not just lifting the name of the school but also making the Nigeria Police and the nation proud.
A statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer of the zone, SP Ayeni Benjamin says the AIG was accompanied to the Ile-Ife Palace by the DC B ‘Op’s, DCP Felix Ohagwu; DC DFA, DCP Reuben Abiola; Area Commander Ife, ACP Abiodun Alabi; O/C ZIB, CSP Suleiman Olalere; Zonal PPRO, SP Ayeni Benjamin; O/C Legal, SP James Famuyini and many other police officers as well as PCRC Zone 11 Command Executives.
