In his bid to complement the efforts of the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, the Executive Chairman Ibadan North West Local Government, Hon. Rahman Olanrewaju Adepoju has installed solar-powered security lights along Ayeye-Beere-Idi Agba Road.

This will go a long way to curb pocket of attacks, burglary, snatching of phones and bags or theft which usually occur in dark areas at night; and also in line with the vision of the governor which is aimed at ensuring that all nook and cranny of the state is peaceful day and night.
Hon. Adepoju explained that his administration realized the need to curb violence and crimes which usually occurred in the axis at night, hence the reason for the project. He assured the residents of the council that the project will be extended to other parts of the local government area as time goes on.
The official commissioning of the project was executed by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Barrister Olasunkanmi Olaleye ably represented by Mr. Wale Bolarinwa, the Director of Inspectorate at the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters.

Olaleye commended the executive chairman Ibadan North West for executing this laudable project. You have set pace for others to follow.
He advised the people of the local government area to maintain and guard the project to avoid damage or theft.
In his address, Engr. Olofinjana who supervised the installation of the project educated the people on its advantage and further explained that this solar flood land light model 300 has the most powerful energy that is brighter and durable.
He said the solar power will be working from 7pm to 7am daily.
However, Hon. Adepoju used the opportunity to plead with the good people of Oyo State to join hands with Governor Seyi Makinde in taking the Pacesetter State to greater heights.
”We should ensure the continuity of good governance by voting for him in the next election because this is the only guarantee for sustainability of progress witnessed in the State.” He stated.

Ibadan North West LG, Chief Abdulateef Akintola Ibikunle, the Oota Balogun of Ibadanland and Mogaji of Ibikunle Dynasty, ably represented by Baale Alamu Oloyede Ibikunle on behalf of Ayeye and Beere community appreciated the chairman and his cabinet for the kind gesture.
The statement further said other personalities present at the occasion were Alhaji Labule Ishola, the Special Adviser to governor; Hon. Ganiy Omothoso, the Vice Chairman; the Leader of the Legislative Chamber, -Hon. Kazeem Arowona and other councillors, all political functionaries, Col. Quadri, Hon. Oladejo, Alhaji Dauda Olalere, all party executives, women leaders, the Head of Local Government Administration, Mr. Bimbo Ladepo and Local Government Directors among others.
