As part of his efforts to make Oyo State top commercial hub of the Nation, Oyo state Governor, Seyi Makinde has assured the people of Oke Ogun that Iseyin town will soon become the Capital of Solid Minerals in Nigeria.

Governor Seyi Makinde gave the assurance during the Burial Ceremony in honour of the Late Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Ganiy Salau Adekunle Ologunebi Ajinese I (The Aseyin of Iseyin).

Members of Aseyin Royal family, Political bigwigs, Dignitaries, Traditional Rulers, and well wishers on Saturday converged on the playing field of the popular Iseyin District Grammar School, for the Royal Burial Reception in honour of late Aseyin of Iseyin, Oba (Dr.) Abdul-Ganiy Salau Adekunle Ologunebi Ajinese I

The state number one citizen,  Seyi Makinde led members of his cabinet and some personalities to the occasion to fulfill his earlier promise of a Royal befitting Burial for the late Monarch.

Addressing the people present at the occasion, the chief mourner, Governor,  Makinde reiterated the passion of the late Aseyin of Iseyin, for the development of his town, which he said he showed till his last breath.

While pledging more dividends of democracy across the state, Governor Seyi Makinde, promised that his administration will harness the tourist potential of Ikere gorge Dam In Iseyin.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chairman of Iseyin Local Government, Mr Muftau Abilawon, appreciated the efforts of Governor Seyi Makinde on Iseyin town and Oke Ogun axis in general.

He pledged that the people of Iseyin would continue their unflinching support for the present administration in Oyo State.

The wives and children of the late monarch also appreciated the magnanimity of the state governor on the royal family as they presented him a gift.

The programme was graced by the state Deputy Governor, Barrister, Bayo Lawal, and other top Government functionaries.
