Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde and Ekiti State Governor, Kayode Fayemi on Thursday visited their Ondo State counterpart, Rotimi Akeredolu to condole with him on the demise of his mother, Grace Akeredolu.

Gov. Makinde on his verified Twitter handle wrote “My deepest condolences to my brother, His Excellency @RotimiAkeredolu (SAN) over the passing of his beloved mother. Regardless of how old our loved ones are, we never want to lose them. I pray that God grants my brother and the rest of the family His comfort at this time.”
The two Governor’s went for the condolence visit after the commissioning of 7.2km Idi-Ape/Akobo Road and General Gas Flyover constructed by Makinde.
Governor Fayemi, who commissioned the projects on the invitation by Governor Makinde, commended his Oyo State counterpart for delivering such a massive road and flyover project, among many others across all the nooks and crannies of the state.
Fayemi described Governor Makinde as broad-minded, focused on the job and a man that builds relationships that transcends political party affiliations.
It would be recalled that Makinde had earlier expressed his heartfelt condolences to Akeredolu over the death of his mother, Mrs. Grace Akeredolu.
Governor Makinde, who condoled with the governor of Ondo State and his family, prayed to God to grant repose to the soul of the late Madam Akeredolu, whom he said, lived a good life.
He said: “I commiserate with my Egbon, who is also the chairman of the South-West Governors’ Forum, His Excellency, Arakunrin Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, SAN, on the death of his mother, Mama Grace Akeredolu.
“I equally express my condolences to the government and good people of Ondo State and I pray to God to grant repose to Mama’s soul and to grant the entire Akeredolu family the fortitude to bear the loss.
“No matter how old our loved ones are, we never would love to see them leave us. But in the programme of God, there is a time to be born and a time to die.
“So, we can only submit to God’s will and cherish the memories our loved ones.
“I am sure that Mama left a bundle of good memories, because she was a woman of virtue and a great mother. So, I encourage Governor Akeredolu and everyone Mama left behind to take solace in the great life Mama lived.”
The governor also wrote in the condolence register opened in Mama’s house: “Mama lived a happy and fulfilled life. May her beautiful soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.”
