Over 50 worshippers have been killed in an explosion which rocked St. Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Details of the incident were sketchy as at the time of filing this report, but a source attributed it to terrorist attack, saying the attackers opened fire on worshippers.
The worship center is adjacent the palace of Olowo of Owo. Owo is the hometown of Governor Rotimi Akeredolu.
Police Public Relations Officer in Ondo State, Funmilayo Odunlami confirmed the incident, saying investigation was ongoing.
Newsmen report that Governor Akeredolu has visited the scene of the attack, which is the latest in what appears to be a resurgence of bomb attacks.
In the last four weeks, several bars have been attacked across Kogi State, particularly in Kabba Local Government Area.
The Islamic State has claimed responsibility for the Kogi attack, while terrorists also attacked a fun spot in Yobe State last month.
