As Nigerian Muslims join their counterparts all over the world to mark the festival of Eidel-Fitri, the immediate past ALGON chairman Oyo State and House of Representatives hopeful, Prince Ayodeji Abass-Aleshinloye has urged Muslim Ummah to carry on with the principles and teachings of the holy month of Ramadan which are perseverance, sacrifice, love, peace, kindness, compassion and peaceful co-existence.

In his goodwill message made available to journalists in Ibadan on Sunday, Abass-Aleshinloye congratulated Muslims for the successful completion of Ramadan.

“It is only when the principles of the season are sustained beyond Ramadan that the fasting period can be given its true meaning.

“During Ramadan, which is one of the important pillars of Islam,we were obliged to fast, shun evil actions, speak right and show love to one another.

“Above all, we should not draw back in our devotion to Allah, which is the ultimate of our faith”, the ex ALGON chairman stated.

Aleshinloye urged Muslims in the country to use the period of the Eidel-Fitri to reflect on their spiritual life as individuals and how they can contribute more meaningfully towards the unity and progress of Nigeria.

He prayed that Allah accepts all the supplications, sacrifices and other good deeds during the month of Ramadan as an act of ibadah, while calling on Almighty Allah to intervene in the affairs of Nigeria, especially as the country faces challenges.
