A faction of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State early on Friday morning sworn-in Abu Gbadamosi as the chairman of the party in the state.

The faction also sworn-in other members as chairmen of the party across the 33 local government areas of the state.

Addressing journalists immediately after the swearing-in ceremony, one of the party’s stalwarts and former lawmaker in the Red Chamber, Senator Ayoade Adeseun described the event as wonderful swearing-in of authentic APC Chairman in Oyo State.

“We just performed a wonderful ceremony this morning whereby we did investiture and the swearing into office of the authentic chairman of APC in Oyo as well as the chairmen of local government throughout Oyo State, 33 of them.

“That’s simple ceremony, we are on our way to Abuja to participate in the party’s convention which holds tomorrow morning by the special grace of God. When we come back, we want to come back ready and fired up to get work. We will do what we can to reach every nook and cranny of this state and get people on board this party because we are confident that come 2023, APC will control the government of this state by the grace of God, and that of Nigeria also.

“You know what happened in the party some time that some people did kangaroo election and stole the structure of the party. We’ve made presentation to the national and the national has given us every assurance that what they did was non-event; was a non issue. The convention is the number one priority of this party now, once the convention is over, the party will come back at national level to resolve what differences that may be. But the bottom line is the party belongs to the vast majority of its members. A small clique cannot hijack and take control of the party and think they have succeeded at anything. So we are trying to return the party to the people.”

Senator Adeseun expressed optimism about the party’s convention, stressing that members would come out of the conversation very strong and united.

Talking about the other factional chairman, Omodewu, he said he had no personal issues with him, he however said the chairman seat of the party did not belong to him.

“The state chairman is Abu Gbadamosi that we just sworn-in… Once we settle that issue and we restructure the excos, then we are part of the same family. We will work together and get result by the grace of God. However, where there is no justice, there can be no peace and where there’s no peace, there can’t be progress.”

In his reaction after the swearing-in, the new factional chairman, Abu Gbadamosi said the arrangement that produced Isaac Omodewu as the other factional chairman was faulty and hence he was not recognized as the chairman of the party in the state.

The Abu Gbadamosi-led faction left for Abuja immediately after the swearing-in ceremony for the national convention slated for Saturday (tomorrow).
