Ward leaders and other stakeholders in the All Progresseives Congress (APC) from all the four local government area of oyo zone in the state have pledged their support to a governorship hopeful, Olaoluwa Peter Abidemi (OPA) in the build up for 2027 governorship election.

The leaders and stakeholders drawn from Afijio local government, Oyo East local government, Oyo West local government, and Atiba local government made this pledge at the Inauguration of “OPA Movement”, held at Elekaara, Oyo.
In his comment at the Inauguration, the party chairman in Afijio local government, Hon Gbade, said it is important for members of the party in the zone to work for actualisation of Oyo indigene as governor of the state.
He added that it’s long overdue for people of Oyo zone to also produce governor of the state, considering their contributions to the socio-economic development of the state.
He charged them to be active and effective in spreading the message of hope and restoration to all the nooks and cranies of the state.
Also, a former local government chairman in Afijio local government, Hon. Remi Adeniyi, also known as PICO, said, Oyo zone is more than ready to also vie for the governorship seat of the state and will no longer be playing second fiddle to any part of the state.
Adeniyi urged leaders and members of APC in the zone to be diligent and work honestly for the realisation of Olaoluwa’s project come 2027.
Also, a former local government chairman, Afijio local government, and 2023 house of assembly candidates for Afijio state constituency under the APC, Hon Akinbiyi Olatunji counselled members of the party in the State to be up and doing in order for the party to take over the reign of government come 2027.
The former council boss assured those in attendance of his readiness to also champion the cause of ensuring Olaoluwa emerged APC Guber candidate come 2027.
In his address, while inaugurating the committee, the secretary, OPA Movement, Rev. Joseph Ademola Dopamu said the members of the committee are to work at the Grassroot and assist in contact and mobilisation of other members in their various wards and local government for Olaoluwa.
Dopamu appreciated the leaders and members in the zone for their show of support and solidarity towards the project.
