A Socio-political group based in Ibadanland known as the People’s Frontiers has refuted the allegations levelled against the House of Representatives member representing Ibadan South East and North East Federal Constituency who doubles as the Vice Chairman House Committee on Airforce, Abass Agboworin by the Youth Initiative for insulting and disrespecting Alhaji Taofeek Arapaja.
Rising from an emergency meeting on Friday, the group through its scribe, Comrade Aderemi Akande, issued and sent a stern warning to those it describes as aporobating and reprobating in a case in which there is a party, an utter disregard and affront to a ceasefire order by the ruling party in the state.
Comrade Akande cast aspersions on the political hirelings who allow themselves to pitch their tents against popular choice. Aderemi Akande said those firing the salvos are only poised to rewrite history in a hurry thinking preposterously that condemning the personality of Agboworin would reduce his meteoric rising profile and public acclamation he is currently enjoying among the members of his constituency who stand staunchly behind him for his superlative representation and wiping the sunken faces of those who are now gleefully getting liberated from poverty cycle through his numerous pro- poor empowerment initiatives.
The statement added “Those people who want to blackmail Agboworin with negative mindset to settle political scores with him should avail us the names of other political leaders from the constituency who feel disenchanted with the peace-loving lawmaker. Its crystal clear that the accusations are preposterous, baseless and are symptomatic of giving dog a bad name”.
Comrade Akande described as ludicrous the wrong notion that Agboworin’s emergency through a free and fair open primary was maniupulated, wondering if those making the mendacious claim aim only getting a brain reset when Agboworin refused to be subjected to the whims and caprises of their ineffectual. political sponsor who can’t do anything for a toffee”.
Comrade Aderemi also described as fallacious the claim that an extraversion personality like Agboworin could be said to be bereft of ethical behaviour now by the same leader who once climbed a rooftop to bawl out Agboworin’s praises when the going was good.
The People’s Frontiers finally called on those fanning embers of discord to desist from aggravating the matter, saying their despicable action is no grist to the mill of the party and may bring disrepute to the ruling party in the state if caution is not exercised on their side.
The group gives a clean bill of sterling performance to Agboworin and advise the general public not to be swayed by the antics who are hell bent of besmirching his reputation for political gains. It also thanks members of his constituency for reposing confidence and absolute trust in Abass Agboworin.
