As Nigerians join the rest of the world to celebrate 2023 Christmas, the Central Council of Ibadan Indegenes (CCII), the umbrella body of all Ibadan indegenous associations and groups, has called on well-meaning individuals to cater for the less privileged people in the spirit of the season.

The President-General of the CCII, Barrister Sulaiman Ajeniyi Ajewole, made this call in Ibadan in celebration of this year’s Christmas.

Barrister Ajewole said the purpose of the celebration is to make the people around us happy, stressing that the purpose will be defeated if few people are overfed while multitude of people are hungry.

He charged government at all levels, corporate organisations, philanthropists and other well-to-do individuals to make people around them feel the spirit of the season.

CCII President-General admonished that people should not wait till festive season before they help others.

“As we all know that economic situation is biting hard on the people, we should all rally round ourselves and be our brothers’ keepers We should be compassionate.” He stated.

Barrister Ajewole used the opportunity to celebrate the birthday of Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde whose birthday is on every Christmas day and clocks 56 this year.

He prayed that God will give Oyo State Governor the wisdom to continue to pilot the affair of the Pacesetter State.

Ajewole charged the governor to continue to make people the center of his administration and create conducive environment for the youth to excel in their chosen field.
