The Yorubas and other well meaning Nigerians have been enjoined to throw their unalloyed supports behind the candidature of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ensure he emerges as the next president of Nigeria.
Comrade Adeboye Adebayo, the convener of a media and public engagement on Tinubu/Shettima ambition, who stated this during a press conference in Ibadan on Tuesday, said the opportunity to enthrone good governance should not evade Nigerians.
The media and public engagement which gathered both media practitioners and other members of the public, has the the theme ‘2023: Tinubu/Shettima – Analysing The Expectations And Promises of The Renewed Hope’.
Comrade Adebayo lamented that some sections of the media are dwelling on irrelevant issues, like the age of Bola Tinubu and his health status.
He also wondered why some Yorubas are against Bola Tinubu while the Hausas and many other tribes are in full support of his ambition.
“Bola Tinubu was born in March 29th, 1952. Whoever is doubting that will need to visit his mother and ask questions. So it’s quite unfortunate that some sections of the media are dwelling so much on issues that are irrelevant to our nation building, to good governance that our people are craving for.
“And you will agree with me that whoever wants to become the president of Nigeria must have displayed a high level of patriotism especially in the principle and tenet of democracy.
“All of us know the contributions, intellectually, in capacity, financially and otherwise of Bola Tinubu in the enthronement and deepening of democracy in Nigeria.
“He never knew he would become anything in the history of Nigeria, but he was doing those things at that time, fighting for justice, fighting for democracy all because he is patriotic.
“So if you are looking for a patriotic Nigerian, you will see one in Bola Tinubu; he has fought for deepening and retention of democracy in this country. Military rule is no more in vogue in Nigeria again because patriots like Tinubu rose to the occasion, did everything to support democracy in Nigeria.
“Bola Tinubu is a patriot and we need to support him because he believes so much in Nigeria and in our unity. He is a team builder, talent hunter. One of the major traits of a good leader is to identify talents.”
“We all know people that have risen on his shoulders and we have seen it ourselves. The numbers are endless. So, Bola Tinubu is a good leader that deserve to be president because he is a talent hunter.”
He insisted that Tinubu is hale, hearty and competent intellectually and otherwise to lead this country, adding that all Nigerians should support him so that the country can experience the good governance people are craving for.
